Handmade tools built to last
Our tools are made from natural materials such as wood, linen and iron. We keep the texture and changing colors of each material as they are, and avoid unnecessary processing. This is the most important idea behind making tools that last for years.
"Something you pick up every day should become dearer the more you use it." That thought guides every decision about shape and size.
Each piece is made by craftspeople who have worked with their material for many years. From drying the wood to the final polish, almost every step is done by hand, so no two items share the same grain or tone even within the same product line. Small marks and knots are left as the character of that particular tool. We also offer repairs and replacement parts, so a well-worn tool can be restored and passed on to the next generation.
A tool is completed in the life of the person who uses it. When natural materials find their way into small everyday scenes such as the kitchen, the study or the garden, time seems to pass a little more slowly. We will keep facing our materials and valuing the work of the hand, making tools that stay close to daily life.
